Announcing: Refuge Surf Shop

This is going to be a big year for my family. My husband, Steve, decided to fulfill a dream and open up a surf shop. I need to preface this by saying what an avid surfer he is. He lives in the water. I often joke that I'm a "surf widow". Many of my friends are still skeptical that he even exists since half of them have never met him, let alone seen him. So, opening a shop seems like a perfect fit for him. The shop is going to be in Hobe Sound, FL, which is about 14 miles north of Jupiter. Great location near the beach. This place has a lot of history, too. It was built, I believe, in the 70's and has been a doctor's office, library and most recently a barber shop. Pretty soon the buildout will begin to transform it into Refuge Surf Shop. He's hoping to open in March 2010.

Here are a few views of the building. They were all taken by Steve with a p&s camera. Not too shabby. =) A new sign is in the works and will replace the barber shop sign very soon!

UPDATE: Share the Love

The Share the Love event received corporate sponsorship from Pictage! The cost of prints will be donated!! That means 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS will benefit Sow a Seed and their Haitian earthquake relief effort! Please help us try to raise $10,000. Share the Love: The Ultimate Family Photography Event to benefit the Haitian relief effort

Mark your calendars... I'll be photographing at this event, along with other amazing SoFly photographers. What a great way to let the love and beauty of your family help those less fortunate!

The Details:
30 minute mini sessions will be held in downtown Hollywood for $100 per session. All proceeds will go to benefit Sow A Seed. 100% of print sales profits will also benefit Sow a Seed. People are encouraged to arrive early as sessions will be provided on a first come first serve basis. A representative from Sow a Seed will be present to accept the $100 donations as well as to educate the participants on its mission in Haiti. All images will be available for viewing online and participants will be able to purchase prints for personal use.

About Sow a Seed:
Sow a Seed is a non-profit organization created by a group of young professionals to provide the basic fundamentals for disadvantaged children living in extreme poverty in Haiti.

About SoFly Photographers:
SoFly is a members-only group of female South Florida professional photographers who meet once a month to learn, grow, share ideas and dreams and hopes, and generally build relationships with each other while fueling our passion for creating beautiful, meaningful images.

Change is in the air...

Change is good, right?  My business is going to have a complete makeover this year, so if you still want rock bottom prices take advantage now!  I will be changing things up soon.

Just wanted to let you all know that my pricing will be changing.  There will still be an option to buy enhanced images on disc, but my main focus is going to be delivering high quality portraits to my clients.  I would really like to give my clients beautiful artwork for their homes.  I offer a wide variety of products to my clients, including gallery wrap canvases and custom books.

My prices will change the 1st of March, so book today to reserve your session before the increase kicks in.

I was totally working the party tonight, but just couldn't help myself when I came across the cutest dog ever. Seriously... how cute is he?! Makes me almost want a dog. Almost. Maybe when my girls get a little older. Give me about five more years! Oh, but he's sooo cute!

Sneak Peek: "C" Family

Lisa is running for Circuit Court Judge. I had the pleasure of photographing at her home this evening. I'm proud to support her campaign and honored that she chose me to be her photographer. A Princess Affair: The Invitation

I'm planning my daughter's 4th birthday party. She wants a Disney Princess theme. We went over the details and she was very specific about what she wanted and decided that it was a girly affair so no boys were allowed. I might have gone a little overboard on the theme. It's going to be Disney Princess on crack. Seriously. I'll have to take a photo of the load of party favors I picked up yesterday. Ridiculous, but I love it!

I wanted to share photos of the invitations that I mailed out today. I wanted something special and something to set the tone for the party. It's going to (hopefully) be a fairy tale event.

Sneak Peek: Little "S"

You may remember this cutie from a few weeks ago. I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous little girl again, but this time with her whole entire family. (Those photos will be up soon.) We had some time before the group photo and I took full advantage of it. She looks like she belongs in a children's clothing catalogue. Don't you just love those pants?!
